This two-day desert trip from Marrakech to Zagora offers a taste of the Moroccan desert and its surrounding landscapes. Day one involves a scenic drive across the High Atlas Mountains, culminating in a visit to the historic Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. The journey continues through the Draa Valley, a region famous for its palm oases and Berber villages. Participants will experience a traditional Bedouin camp in the Zagora desert, including a sunset camel ride and a cultural evening with music and fire. Day two begins with an early sunrise, followed by a return journey through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Draa Valley, with a visit to the Ouarzazate Film Studios. The trip concludes with a return to Marrakech.
At 8:00 a.m. We will pick you up from your accommodation and drive across the high Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop to visit the stunning Atlas Mountains and the unique Berber mud villages. We will arrive in the walled village of Ait Ben Haddou after crossing the highlands. Where we will see its most famous, filmed and photographed kasbah. Which has been featured in films such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Lunch in the town, then continue on to Zagora via Ouarzazate and the Anti-Atlas Mountains to Agdez, where we will view the amazing hidden oases of the Draa Valley, which are home to hundreds of palm trees. We then continue our desert tour driving along this amazing valley admiring the beautiful landscapes and mud villages. Before we arrive in the desert, where camels await your arrival to take you for a ride across the rocky desert to your camp. Your camel guide will make a pit stop for you to witness a spectacular sunset. After that, proceed to the Bedouin camp. You’ll be greeted with a cup of tea, then after supper, the staff will light a fire and entertain you with drums under the stars.
Today, you should wake up early to see one of the most beautiful sunrises. After breakfast, you’ll board the camels and return to your driver. Then return to Marrakech via the Draa Valley and the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Stop for lunch in Ouarzazate, regarded as “Africa’s Hollywood” and home to the world’s largest Oscar Film Studios, which you will have the opportunity to explore. Then, via the High Atlas Mountains, we’ll take you to your hotel in Marrakech.
